Barcelona left-back Alba has left the club at the end of the season, club officials have announced.

Alba, 34, is a left-back who spent the ages 9-16 at Barca's academy before rejoining from Valencia at the age of 23. He has played for Barca for a total of 18 years (seven youth and 11 first-team years).

Alba played 458 games for Barca's first team, scoring 27 goals and providing 99 assists, winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, European Super Cup, La Liga 6 times, Copa del Rey 5 times and Spanish Super League 4 times.

Alba was Barca's third captain in 29 games in 2022-23, scoring two goals and assisting six times with 10 substitutes in 19 starts. His contract was due to expire in June 2024.
